What: Thanks Mom Pop-Up Shop

Where: 303 Grand, Williamsburg

When: May 6–May 9

Why: Here’s a market, there’s a market, everywhere there’s a pop-up market. Come on and sing along with us! oM is breaking out in song because we’re too excited to share with you an entrepreneurial effort that might just be one antidote to shuttering specialty storefronts.

The Thanks Mom Pop-Up is part of 303 Grand’s experimental venue where revolving theme markets will come and go as vendors and owners take turns reinventing the space. So, what better reason to have folks from across the country form a local consignment store this weekend than on behalf of your momma truly?

Whether you’re a daughter, son, or husband still in need of a last-minute gift, or a passerby just taking advantage of the mom-inspired deals, the shop has enough ceramic tchotchkes, pretty floral designs, and practical knickknacks to make Her feel appreciated. “These are handmade vendors we found that target mothers,” said Ruth Heronemus of Street Attack, an alternative marketing agency which runs the space. You may even find something for yourself (ladies) amongst the handmade perfumes, soaps, and vintage jewels from places like Little Falls NY, Wisconsin, and Texas.

How to get there: Take the L train to Lorimer. Exit on Union & Metropolitan end. Walk four blocks West on Metropolitan to Havermeyer. Left on Havermeyer and down two blocks to Grand. Right on Grand and its just off the corner. For upcoming events after this weekend visit 303 Grand.

(Thanks Mom Pop-Up, 303 Grand Street, Store Hours Wed- Fri, 3-8 p.m., Saturday 2-8 p.m. To view more photos of creative items, check out Street Attack’s Flickr album.)
