The owner of Azure Restaurant is the only owner born and raised in the upper East Side of Manhattan. My customers are mostly local and come to Azure a few times a week for the food and the largest vegetarian menu in Northern Liberties. We're mainly a restaurant and are closed well before the Jersey crowd hits Philly. Check out our web site azurerestaurant.net to see the menu—not just wraps sandwiches and pizza.
thanks Bob

First, I'd like to give a big thanks to Angela West! Thanks so much for pointing out the facts. There were a few more errors. Bar Ferdinand is actually owned by Owen Kamihira NOT the developer & landlord, I know this because I own Deuce Restaurant & Bar (Not the sports bar!) The "Towers" across the street that you wrote of is actually called Hancock Square and is being developed by Tower Investments, Bart Blatstein. The rest of Liberties Walk are unique shops, first time business owners and great over all people - There are other great spots in the neighborhood such as Arbol, Honey's, Ortleibs and so many more Check out the shopping if you get a chance next time...Over all it was a great article just missing some basic facts.

Angela, thanks for catching the error - we have made the correction. We encourage people to contribute to this online community with comments like yours to continuously improve the site.

Also, we appreciate the restaurant suggestions. While this article focused mainly on "bar food" locations, keep a look out for a future "Northern Liberties Neighborhood Part II" article in which these restaurants may be featured.

You lost me when you described Bar Ferdinand as located at "a small plaza shared with the rather ordinary neighboring sports bar/restaurant Fuel."

The name of that bar/restaurant is actually Deuce, and it's anything but ordinary. It has extraordinary food, a bunch of awards and a great crowd.

You should give it a try next time you're in the neighborhood, along with Honey's (also extraordinary in a very different way), Sovalo (one of the best restaurants on the East Coast) and Ortleib's (an outstanding gastro-pub menu and Philly's best bop on stage).

Stay a little longer next time. And be sure to double-check your facts, okay?
